بيتر آرتسن
ولد عام 1507 او 1508 " غير محدد بدقة " وتوفي عام 1575
هولندي الجنسية ومن المحتمل انه ولد في امستردام في شمال هولندا إلا ان جميع اعماله قد انجزها في جنوب هولندا
وتحديدا في Antwerp .
عام 1560 عاد غلى امستردام مسقط رأسه .
تضمن عمل ىرتسن صورة altarpieces كبيرة إضافة إلى اعمال دينية صغيرة .
قام بتقديم افضل معروف إلى مادة البحث حيث عنه قدم مجموعة من الصور امتزج فيها تصوير لمشاهد ساكتة
مع احداث دينية والتي تتميز بأن المشاهد الساكتة تضيف طابعا خاصا يصف فيه مشاهد ن الحياة المحلية .

Netherlands
Aertsen was probably a native of
Amsterdam, in the Northern Netherlands,
but spent most of his career in the South,
in Antwerp; in 1560 he moved back
to Amsterdam.
Aertsen’s work included the
painting of large altarpieces as well
as smaller devotional works. He is best
known for the development of a new
type of subject matter, paintings which
combine prominent depictions of
still-life scenes with religious episodes,
or in which the still-life provides the
focus of attention in scenes of
domestic life.

مشهد من حياة اسقف :
رسمت هذه اللوحة تقريبا عام 1560 العنوان الكامل " مشهد من حياة القديس الأسقف الغير معروف "
لوحة زيتية مرسومة على الخشب ابعادها ( 56 × 75 ) سنتمتر .
تتميز اللوحة بثلاثة مشاهد في كل منها يرى الأسقف الأعمال الخير .
في المقدمة نرى الاسقف يعطي المال غلى انسان فقير " الصورة الأمامية التي في المقدمة "
في اليسار نراه يشفي رجل فاقد بصره " في الخلفية "
في مشهد العيد " الزاوية اليمينية في الخلفية " نرى مشهد مطابق للعشاء الأخير للسيد المسيح والاسقف يستعد لغسل
الارجل كما يحدث في " خميس الاسرار " يقتقد البعض ان الرجل الفقير الذي تغسل قدمه من قبل الاسقف
هو نفسه الذي يمنح المال في مقدمة اللوحة .
يظن البعض ان الاسقف هو " St Albinus " الذي يعرف بالاسقف الغاضب ايضا .
الصورة مؤرخة لفترة انتقال Aertsen من Antwerp إلى Amsterdam غلى حوالي 1560 .

Unidentified Bishop Saint'
Oil on wood, 75 x 56 cm. No. L578,
On loan from a private collection.
Three scenes are included in the picture,
in each of which the bishop is shown
doing good works. In the foreground he
gives money to a beggar, in the background
on the left he heals a blind man. In the corresponding feast scene on the right, he
prepares to wash a poor man perhaps the
same man who appears in the foreground.
It has been suggested that the bishop
might be St Albinus, Bishop of Angers
from 529, who was a patron saint of the
blind. The picture was probably painted
as a single devotional work, rather than
as part of an altarpiece, and dates from
about 1560, when Aertsen had moved
from Antwerp to Amsterdam.
